Stanley John Weyman (1855-1928) was an English novelist sometimes referred to as the "Prince of Romance" for his best-selling historical romances that enchanted thousands of readers, including Robert Louis Stevenson, Oscar Wilde, and Graham Greene. The Long Night is set in Geneva in the 1500s during the conflict with the Dukes of Savoy.
