Instructions are provided on making a simple wet mount slide, using stains, and creating well slides for observing specimens in liquids. Needed materials are readily available and warnings are provided if substances are potentially hazardous or adult supervision is recommended. Numerous simple experiments are laid out, such as watching yeast grow, observing simple one-cell animals in water, and collecting and studying fingerprints.
