Overview

The Near Eastern Fells by Mark Richards covers 35 summits in the Near Eastern Fells of the English Lake District, including a variety of ascents in the mighty range of hills that sit between Ambleside, Ullswater and Grasmere, an area which has seen travellers and settlement since the stone age and Roman times. The area is flanked to the west by Grasmere, Dunmail Raise and Thirlmere, and to the east by Kirkstone Pass, Patterdale and Ullswater.

Author Mark Richards combines his passion for the Lake District and artistic flair with all the information the experienced hiker needs to explore and enjoy the Near Eastern Fells. For each of the hills covered, this guide offers full descriptions of a range routes, full-color maps and clear elevation diagrams, detailed summit panoramas and lots of inspiring photographs.

It is one of Cicerone's 8-volume Lakeland Fellranger series, which provides a comprehensive new guide to the fells of the English Lake District, with a selection of new routes up more than 230 hills.
