Editorials

From The Critics

Reviewer: Erika Porter, MSN(Delaware Technical & Community College)
Description: This book is designed to help nursing students get the most from their clinical education, describing all aspects of clinical, from the instructors to reporting and clinical simulations.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide nursing students another tool to help them in the clinical component of their nursing program. It gives advice and tips on how to make clinical less chaotic and more manageable.
Audience: "Nursing students entering the clinical aspect of their programs are the intended audience. "
Features: The book covers a wide variety of topics, ranging from making the move from classroom to clinical and prioritizing time to charting appropriately. It has wonderful aids and activities that can help students in clinical. Nurses comment on their clinical experiences, providing words of wisdom for students. The nurses' comments at the end of the book may be the best part because nursing students will be able to relate to them. The only shortcoming is the lack of references.
Assessment: This will be very useful to nursing students. As a nurse educator, I found a lot of interesting material that would benefit students. Every nursing student should read this before starting their first clinical rotation.
