PreS--In both titles, clear, colorful photos of animals appear on simple square flaps bordered by bright primary and secondary colors. The Opposite Zoo teaches basic concepts such as big and little, clean and dirty, fast and slow. Even adults will have difficulty determining the type of animal depicted in a close-up of the open mouth of a camel, but the concept of open and closed in reference to the creatures' mouths will be readily understood. When I Grow Up features a baby animal on each flap and its adult counterpart underneath. The flimsy cardboard cover will not withstand much use in libraries but the inside flaps offer sturdy and uncomplicated lifting practice from all directions.-Blair Christolon, Prince William Public Library System, Manassas, VABook Details
