Cites over 1,600 printed secondary works in the major European languages on scientific and related cultural events during the 250 years between the Renaissance and the early years of the Enlightenment. The annotations are a descriptive sentence or two, and often cite published reviews. The arrangement is chronological within such sections as research aids, humanism, printing, education, philosophy, the various sciences, technology, and medicine.
