Overview
The Lord himself prophesied of great calamities before his coming and declared they were but "the beginning of sorrows." With this beginning, the author begins his insightful explanation of signs that have already been fulfilled, such as the Great Apostasy, the times of the Gentiles, and the Restoration. And he describes signs that are yet to come, such as those involving Satan's evil kingdom and the great plagues of destruction that will cleanse the wicked from the earth.
The reader will be intrigued by prophecies of giant hailstones, the 144,000 high priests, strange signs in the heavens, the sign of the rainbow, the three cities, the great earthquake that will ultimately restore the earth to its Paradisiacal glory, and much more. The author reveals information concerning the great and dreadful day of the Lord, the sign of the coming of the son of man, and the Lord's unique apparel when he appears. He concludes with a discussion of the many judgments that have and will yet take place, including the final great war and the judgment between good and evil at the conclusion of Heavenly Father's Plan of Salvation.
Synopsis
In The Second Coming of Jesus the Messiah, the author examines and classifies scriptural prophecies and teachings from the Standard Works to help the reader understand the events, signs and wonders of the last days. Prophets from the beginning of time have prophesied of the Savior s Advent and each generation has eagerly longed for his coming in its own time. The Lord himself prophesied of great calamities before his coming and declared they were but "the beginning of sorrows." With this beginning, the author begins his insightful explanation of signs that have already been fulfilled, such as the Great Apostasy, the times of the Gentiles, and the Restoration. And he describes signs that are yet to come, such as those involving Satan s evil kingdom and the great plagues of destruction that will cleanse the wicked from the earth. The reader will be intrigued by prophecies of giant hailstones, the 144,000 high priests, strange signs in the heavens, the sign of the rainbow, the three cities, the great earthquake that will ultimately restore the earth to its Paradisiacal glory, and much more. The author reveals information concerning the great and dreadful day of the Lord, the sign of the coming of the Son of man and the Lord s unique apparel when he appears. He concludes with a discussion of the many judgments that have and will yet take place, including the final great war and the judgment between good and evil at the conclusion of Heavenly Father s Plan of Salvation. As with his other works, the author combines exhaustive scriptural research with information gleaned from other scholarly works. His insight into the Gospel helps the reader understand the changes our world will experience and the spiritual preparation each must acquire to recognize and be prepared for the signs of the Second Coming of Jesus the Messiah.

I have always had difficulty understanding Revelations and the signs of the Lord's coming but now with Brother E. Keith Howick's book, The Second Coming of Jesus the Messiah, I feel like my eyes of understanding have been opened. The way he has brought together the scriptures from ancient and modern prophets is remarkable. He starts each topic in the book with a direct quote of the applicable scriptures and then in layman's terms explains the meaning of those references with a broad range of additional historic resources. . . .
Even though many things about the events leading up to the Messiah's second coming may sound unpleasant, it's comforting to feel more ready to recognize the prophesied signs and it strengthens my desire to be increasingly diligent in my preparation to face the challenges that will come. . . . Brother Howick makes clear that the time before the Savior's return will be extremely difficult to witness and experience but through faith, patience, and hard work those who have stayed the course and are sufficiently prepared will be participants in His triumphant return and partakers of all the glorious blessings He promised.
