Synopsis
This Guide analyses and illustrates the vast amount of Second World War material to be found in the Public Record Office, particularly among the records of the Cabinet Office, the Foreign Office and the three Service Departments. It describes the classes of records concerned and places them in their administrative context, indicating the offices held by the leading ministers, service chiefs and officials involved. The appendices include material about documents relating to war crimes; the Official War Histories and the most significant collection of the records of the Second World War held by repositories outside the Public Record office, such as the Imperial War Museum.Book Details
