At first glance this seems to stress the ``everyday'' more than ``miracles.'' But that is probably intentional, given Church's notion that God always speaks ``from within and not from beyond,'' offering not divine solutions ``but a yes. Choose life and trust life.'' Most of the pieces in this warm, witty collection draw on Church's experiences as husband, father, Unitarian minister, and writer; and often a whimsical approach to the mundane (playing Monopoly, for instance) triggers speculation on larger issues (what really goes on inside the inside traders?) or quotable epigrams (``Every secret kept is a potential cover-up''). Less theological than Entertaining Angels ( LJ 6/1/87) but just as winsome.-- EC
