Overview

This tragic true love story relates how one family was destroyed while losing sight of their hopes and dreams during their losing battle with cancer. The story teaches the reader to embrace the joy and unity our final time together can bring. Accept no compromise in life, especially at the end. Like so many others this family faced their loss alone. Instead of treasuring their last moments in peace, they were beset by emotional and psychological pain so crippling their family was torn apart. Life well-lived deserves a better end. In response to her grief, Dr. Fabisiak has resolved to help others avoid senseless suffering as the grip on life starts to slip. In remembrance of her loved one, Dr. Gerry G. Whitt, she has founded REFIT (Responding Effectively to Families In Trauma) to assist patients and their families in coping with all aspects of terminal illness.
