Children's Literature
Offering the perfect opportunity to read with your beginning reader, the symbols next to the text guide you and your child to take turns while reading this rendition of the classic Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf. The child's page has shorter, larger print and contains more simple text. In this particular book, the child's text emphasizes rhyming. Bold letters words are also sited on the child's page as difficult or possibly new words that should be covered before the child reads. Often that same word is on the preceding parent page and is also bolded. A parent guide is present at the beginning of the book so that one may use the book properly. The pictures in this story are colorful and friendly. The pigs are of the modern sort as they take TVs and candy to enjoy in their new homes. Unfortunately, this version of the story does stick by the thought "survival of the fittest" and involves the gobbling of two pigs and a wolf.
