Synopsis

Miles from anywhere, Darracott Place is presided over by irascible Lord Darracott. The recent drowning of his eldest son has done nothing to improve his temper. Born in 1902, Georgette Heyer was a highly private writer who never gave interviews or made public appearances. She was married in 1925 and had one son. Of her fifty–seven novels, many are available as Chivers Audiobooks, among them Powder and Patch, The Nonesuch and April Lady. Georgette Heyer died in 1974.
