Overview
This third collection of Diarmaid Ó Muirithe's ever-popular Irish Times column of the same name follows on from The Words We Use (1996; now out of print) and The Words We Use: Volume 2: A Word in Your Ear (1997).
As with the previous two volumes this collection illustrates the author's delight in language and his passion for words. Drawing on his own wit, a wide range of sources and the inspiration of his readers, Ó Muirithe examines and illuminates words and phrases, both colloquialisms and standard English.
