Overview

Charles James Yellowplush was just one of the outlandish pen-names of the young Thackeray. These five savage skewerings of society, chronicling the rising fortunes of a 19th-century footman employed by a scheming card-shark, remain classics of British comedy.

About the Author, William Makepeace Thackeray
