Library Journal
This work records approximately five to 30 events in religious history for every day of the calendar year. In most cases, the first entry is the feast day in the Catholic calendar, followed by one-sentence chronological entries by the year in which each event took place. The major emphasis is on Christianity, though Eastern religions and Judaism receive limited coverage. The events and persons included range from the obscure to the famous, and the coverage, while broad, is somewhat arbitrary. C.S. Lewis does not receive an entry, while Lloyd C. Douglas (admittedly an ordained minister as well as a novelist) does. The work is thoroughly indexed by personal names and topics. Libraries needing such a reference source will be well served by this title.-- Richard S. Watts, San Bernardino Cty. Lib., Cal.Booknews
