This powerful novel is not for the weak of stomach. It deals explicitly with the ultimate pornography--violent death as pub lic entertainment. Filmmaker Chris Thomas, making a sequel to his first film Raw Death , is seeking ever-gorier death scenes when he discovers a killer and stalks him, camera in hand, waiting to capture the next murder on film; the killer catches on and begins to stalk Chris as his next victim. It is difficult in this sordid milieu to discuss degrees of depravity, but Cohen does it--rather as if Stephen King was writing Heart of Darkness . An out standing, if gut-wrenching (literally) nov el.-- Marylaine Block, St. Ambrose Univ., Davenport, Ia.
