This dreadful biography of Toni Morrison is part of Weigl Publishing's "Great African-American Women" series. Although ostensibly a biography of Morrison, the author devotes almost as many pages to irrelevant facts about Morrison's hometown of Lorain, Ohio, and the publishing process, while neglecting any but the most superficial details of Morrison's life. Egregious factual errors abound, including the author's statement that that slavery in the US ended in the early 1900s. There is no complete list of Morrison's literary work, and the poor time line presented at the end lists one Morrison accomplishment per decade without providing any context for the information anywhere else. Not recommended for any audience. 2006, Weigl Publishers, Ages 9 to 12.
