Synopsis

When Grandpa tells Finley he plans to get a cat, Finley thinks Grandpa is too busy for a pet. When Grandpa thinks cats are no trouble, he soon learns otherwise. Full color. 48 pp. Ages 6-10. Pub: 4/98.

Children's Literature

Finley and his Grandpa are in search of the perfect companion for Grandpa. They go through Elvis the cat, Mavis the girlfriend, Conan the bird, and an unnamed hamster. Each one of these, as the reader can imagine, presents a problem of one sort or another. It is a pretty silly story that older toddlers and preschoolers may find amusing.
