Overview
Richardson was a 19th century British explorer. Richardson made an expedition in 1845 from Tunis and Tripoli in Libya to Ghadames and Ghat in the middle of the Sahara. In 1850 he convinced the British government to finance an expedition to the Sudan and Chad Lake. He was the first European to cross the stony elevated plain of the Hammada. Richardson died in 1851. In 1859 his notes and diaries were published in Travels in Morocco.Book Details
