From the tree choppers, skidders, and log trucks that are used to clear a forest to the hobknockers, flatbed trucks, cranes, lifts, dump trucks, and spreaders that finish the building, Lars Klove, has documented with brief text and clear photographs the many diverse and interesting trucks used to build a school. On the very first page, the readers are told to "put on your hard hat and begin to read!" Unfortunately, in a book filled with photos of construction workers, only one photograph contains a person wearing a hard hat! A few men have baseball caps but most of the workers are bare headed. Despite this omission of an important safety feature, this book will be enjoyed by any young person who has ever been fascinated with the trucks that operate on a construction site.
