True's simple, bulkless, strip-pieced jackets embellished with appliqu may convince those who rebel against the traditional quilted jacketswhich can make you feel like a medieval knight in armorto rev up the old sewing machine and go at it. True, an experienced teacher, takes the reader step-by-step through the entire construction process, from planning colors to making a personal label for a one-of-a-kind creation. Her multisize pattern accommodates extra small to extra large (women's sizes 6 to 24). One caveat for libraries: the pattern, which is an integral part of this book, is tipped into the back binding. You will need to devise some way to remove it and make it available to library patrons without losing it. That said, this is recommended for public library creative sewing collections.
