This edition is comprised of publications made during 1993 and 1994 reviewing stories published since 1800 and concentrating on subject, theme, symbols, and structures. In addition to the 5,100 entries, the editor supplies a checklist of books cited and a checklist of journals used for further research. Also, although the explications are confined to those appearing in the major languages of Western Europe, the volume includes an expanded coverage of Latin American and Asian authors.
