The familiar rhyme is given special treatment in this board book. The images of the star vary from a die cut gold star set against a black background, to larger ones set against a variety of backgrounds and colors. As kids turn the pages, the star gets bigger and indeed does look like a diamond in the sky. The shiny reflective materials used in the book are eye-catching—and that would appear to be the objective of the creators. The "Amazing Baby" series is a fantastic new series aimed at young children from birth to twelve months of age. Each book in the series is designed to introduce concepts such as color, shapes, size, and basic numbers. The books are made of sturdy cardboard and can be wiped should there be any spills. The illustrations are funky with bright and bold colors and simple drawing styles. If you do not have a book featuring the rhyme, then this would be one to purchase.
