Overview

This is the third book in the critically acclaimed Two Guys series by Steve Chandler and Terrence Hill. This time the two guys take on their biggest challenge yet-Jane Austen. Follow their wild and often hilarious exchanges as they fly through Pride and Prejudice and the darker, more complex Mansfield Park. Often veering off into the worlds of music, sports, and history, both of these accomplished writers draw upon their lifelong friendships and shared childhood memories to give dimension to their deeply personal responses to Jane Austen's writing. These same zany digressions and non sequiturs were widely hailed in their first two books in this series, Two Guys Read Moby-Dick and Two Guys Read the Obituaries. Terrence Hill and Steve Chandler share their humorous and touching commentaries and debates with their readers in a way unlike any other, a testimony to their 53-year friendship.

β€œI wish I could go out and buy many more Two Guys books. I think they have a wonderful franchise started. The idea is just funky enough and the writing is dazzling, charming and witty.”

Julie Blake

Do real men read Jane Austen? With a shocking title like "Two Guys Read Jane Austen," you can expect some very intriguing observations and hilarious insights into the minds of two guy writers as they wrestle with the brilliance of Jane Austen.
If you are a Jane Austen fan, or just completely obsessed with her - this book is a must have to add to your collection.
Who knows...They may have just started a reading revolution among men?

THREE CHEERS FOR TWO GUYS: Bravo! These two guys seem to have invented a new genre that's both amusing and profound. Their entertainingly digressive but invariably insightful cross country exchanges of emails reveal as much about the long distance collaborators as they do about their subject. The book is great fun to read and bound to turn a lot of people onto Jane Austen. She deserves it... But don't judge the book by its cover. You'll love its innards.

I loved reading this book & getting to know Steve and Terry. It was truly like being in a room & listening to two witty & fun relatives banter back & forth on all types of subjects like family, love, personal struggles & careers & relate their findings to the books they were reading. I love the way they regularly & richly dipped into the stories of their own lives in order to illustrate their points, or used situations in Jane Austen's novels to compare & contrast with modern times.

Robin Witte

β€œA fresh approach to writing as a form of conversation … a nice change from critical commentary that takes itself way too seriously.”
