Synopsis
Barton collects nine articles previously published since the late 1970s, including Amos's Oracles against the Nations, which has long been out of print. He does not update them except to make the language inclusive, but has added new works to the bibliographies of some of the older essays. The overall themes are morality and justice in the Hebrew Bible and explorations of the prophets. Only biblical passages and modern authors are indexed. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
