Overview
Encouraged by the heads of the United Nations and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the International Peace Academy launched a research project dedicated to examining collaborative relations in peacekeeping between them and other regional security organizations. This book, put together by Pugh (international studies, U. of Plymouth, UK) and Sidhu (International Peace Academy) is part of the result of that project, offering 14 papers examining institutional issues and the case study of cooperation in the Balkans in the 1990s. Possibilities for regional operations in Asia, the Western Hemisphere, and Africa are also explored. Annotation Β©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, ORBook Details
