The essays of this collection were evidently (according to the jacket, but without clear indication in the text) first produced as introductions to new editions of Veblen's writings as part of the Veblen Project of which Horowitz (sociology and political science, Rutgers U.) was the director. The contributors are academics in sociology, political science, and economics in the US. The publishers note that through a publishing error, Leon Ardzrooni's name was omitted as author of his essay.
