Overview
From The AuthorWelcome to my corner of Vermont: West Pawlet, a singularly peaceful place. I suspect God takes his Sunday afternoon nap here: perhaps on the hammock slung between two big pine trees in the forest, perhaps in the pasture with the wildflowers and butterflies.
This book is about what it is like to live on the side of a Vermont mountain and vicinity. I came to the mountain fifteen years ago from Ocean County, New Jersey. Three dogs have shared my life here: Josephine a Scotch sheep dog, Al a Welsh Corgi, and Drift a sometime-working sheep dog.
Please do not devour this book in one night. Treat it with the same respect you give a box of assorted Belgian chocolates: try to make it last, no more than two pieces a day.
Peace to you and enjoy.
