Synopsis

A beautiful young widow and aspiring Egyptologist, Lucia Taylor seeks to escape her grief in Egypt s tombs and temples, but ancient Thebes offers a more effective cure for her loneliness in the form of Mark Russell, a photographer working in the Valley of the Kings. Mark quickly discovers all the things Lucia cannot resist and tries very hard to take the place of her seductively forceful late husband, Richard Taylor a best-selling author of murder mysteries who was killed one night in a traffic accident. Yet no matter how hard she tries, Lucia cannot forget the man she loved more than anything. She begins catching haunting glimpses of Richard in shadowy tombs and temples and in the desert's sensually demanding heat. Mark makes every effort to win her heart for himself, but its seems the magical flail of power is still very much alive in the land of the pharaohs as Lucia comes to believe that Richard is passionately trying to communicate with her from what the ancient Egyptian s called the land beyond the sunset. When Ian McNeil, a reporter and a friend of Mark s covering an election in Cairo, becomes more interested in Richard s Taylor s beautiful widow and the sensational story of her supernatural experiences, Lucia suddenly finds herself the center of a pyramid of men all determined to possess her, body and soul.
