Synopsis
The beauties of Virginia from Eastern Shore and Tidewater to the Blue Ridge, in magnificent full-color photography an album to treasure. Not every photographer is willing to carry a 4x5 camera in the field, but for Charles Gurche that is the essential medium. His eye for the light on the landscape, the telling detail, or a new perspective on a well-known site creates his photography's superb content, which is further enriched by utilizing the large-format camera. Gurche's interest in and respect for historical architecture is evidenced as well in this volume, which includes plentiful images of the human landscape as well as the natural one.
