Synopsis
This is a true story that starts out in a cemetery looking back on the past lives of an entire family, from the last remaining descendent. She was only six during that summer that was spent in Arkansas long ago. The little girl got caught up in all the lies, deceit, unhappiness and the mysterious household of her grandmother. During that summer, she finds out only half-truths that plague her with questions most of her life; questions about all the secrets that she was to keep forever: the sabotage of first loves by the grandmother, secrets of a little girl's picture hidden in a trunk, old letters that would come to life decades later, a baby's grave and the mysterious disappearance of Lavender. The little girl was drawn to the trunk but forbidden to go near it. One day, her grandmother told her that it would be hers and all the misery in it.
