War Games

A veteran scholar of US history examines the writings of journalist Davis (1864-1916) to help understand the popular impetus behind US for support the Cuban insurgency against the Spanish, and to demonstrate the extent to which his attitude about the US emerging as a world power reflects Walter LaFeber's revised notion of empire.
