About the Author, Gabriel Bitton

GABRIEL BITTON, Ph.D., is Professor, Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences, University of Florida. He is a recipient of a Harvard University Research Fellowship, as well as an honorary doctorate from Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, Nancy, France. Dr. Bitton is the editor of the Encyclopedia of Environmental Microbiology (Wiley). His primary research interests include wastewater microbiology, ecotoxicology, environmental virology, surface microbiology, and bioremediation.
