Synopsis
Simple text and pictures present principals and their role in elementary schools.
Children's Literature
Nine fullcolor photographs, one per page, of principals at work are accompanied by simple sentences that describe what they do. The small book size, clean layout, and repetitive text, will encourage the emergent reader. With just nine pages of brief text, the student will complete the book quickly. Part of the "Helpers in Our School" series, this title would be useful in the early primary grade curriculum segment on community helpers. The "Read More" section lists two children's titles that may be of interest to the student. The Internet sites are more appropriate for principals than students. Serviceable at best. 2000, Pebble Books/Capstone Press, Ages 4 to 7, $13.25. Reviewer: Sharon Salluzzo
