Synopsis
Ariel Barton, the beautiful young director of a Seattle shelter for battered women, is in despair. The shelter faces closure. When Ariel's wealthy great-uncle dies, Ariel learns that in order to inherit his fortune, she must be married by her twenty-fifth birthday, which is seven days away. Ariel is secretly in love with Dane Garrison, someone she kissed in college and never saw again. There is no one to marry. Her only option is to find a man who will agree to an in-name-only marriage. A chance encounter with a homeless man prompts Ariel to help him, deciding that he could be her bogus husband, not realizing at the time that he is actually her lost love from college. Cyrus Capp, the will's executor, lusts to possess Ariel and her fortunes. He connives to prevent the marriage by making Dane distrust Ariel.
