About the Author, Larry Jeffus

: Larry F. Jeffus has over forty years experience as a dedicated classroom teacher and is the author of several Delmar, Cengage Learning welding publications. Prior to retiring from teaching, Professor Jeffus taught at Eastfield College and the Dallas County Community College District. Since retiring from teaching, he remains very active in the welding community, especially in the field of education, and has visited high school, college, and technical campuses in more than 30 states from coast to coast and border to border. Professor Jeffus has been nominated by several colleges for the Innovator of the Year award for setting up nontraditional technical training programs and was selected as the Outstanding Post-Secondary Technical Educator in the State of Texas by the Texas Technical Society. Larry F. Jeffus holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and has completed post graduate studies.

Lawrence Bower is a welding instructor at Blackhawk Technical College, an AWS SENSE School, in Janesville, Wisconsin. Mr. Bower holds AWS certifications as a Welding Inspector and a Welding Educator. His has worked in the industry including fourteen years at United Airlines, and four years in the US Navy as an aerospace welder
