About the Author, Ken Whiting

Ken Whiting is one of the most recognized and respected whitewater athletes in the world and was recognized so by Paddler magazine in 2000 as one of their 'Paddlers of the Century.' Ken is one of the most active whitewater professionals in the world. He has produced numerous best-selling and award-winning instructional kayaking books and videos and he regularly appears on the covers and writes articles for virtually every paddling magazine inthe world. He co-founded the Liquid Skills Kayaking School in Canada, and Kayak Fataleufu, an adventure kayaking travel company with a base camp in Chile's Patagonia region.

 

Kevin Varette is a five-time member of Canada's national Freestyle Team, with the top Canadian finish at the 2001 World Championships in Spain. Kevin has taught countless volunteer clinics, written many instrucitonal articles and has contributed to the sport in myriad ways throughout his career. Outside of kayaking, he has a degree in psychology, and a master's in Physiotherapy.
