Editorials

School Library Journal

Gr 3-8 An adequately written biography with attractive photographs in color and black and white. The Whitney Houston story, exhaustively researched from the files of Teen Beat, US, Jet, Ebony , and Time magazines, portrays the picture of a young, beautiful girl, who, coupled with the power of the president of Arista Records, Clive Davis, has managed to make it big in music at the age of 24. Even though this book is as ephemeral as its subject matter, it does provide a certain amount of entertainment value at an elementary level. Children, including reluctant readers, are bound to appreciate having more information on one of their best-loved stars. Norman N. Dilley, Rosemead Public Library, Calif.
