Synopsis

A lost baby dragon, alone in the night is looking for somebody to love. He is pink and cuddly and very cute, and his misadventures will have readers laughing, as he frightens a knight and gives the king and queen a good scare. But when the little dragon finally finds his mama, he, and readers, will know that he's found someone who loves him.

Phyllis Kennemer, Ph.D. - Children's Literature

A lost baby dragon is looking for a place to fit in. First, he tries to convince a witch that he would be a better companion than her cat, but he is too heavy to travel on her broom. The knight that he approaches turns out not to be so brave as he takes off running through the castle. A princess sleeping on a huge stack of mattresses complains when his muddy paws mess up her dress. He decides to ask the King and Queen for help, but they hide behind their thrones when they see him coming. Everyone thinks he is too scary. He wanders out of the castle in misery and sits alone on a rock. Just then, someone comes along who will love him just right. His mommy! A small reddish dragon with multicolored dots frolics through the pages in cartoon-like illustrations that feature children in all the starring roles. Young readers will recognize that that the baby dragon is not the least bit scary and will enjoy his humorous antics. When the huge mother dragon gives her son a hug and flies away, all will rejoice. This is another good read aloud for young children. 2004, Orchard/Scholastic, Ages 3 to 6.
