A group of poems dedicated to Winnie Mandela, the wife of Nelson Mandela who was the first indigenous leader to hold the office of President of the Republic of South Africa.

About the Author, Gwendolyn Brooks

Gwendolyn Brooks was the first African American to win the Pulitzer prize (1950). She was also a poetry consultant for the Library of Congress and the Poet Laureate of Illinois.
