Synopsis
Robert E. Lee, described as "audacity personified", turned down an offer to command the United States forces in favor of the offer to command Virginia's army. He was given command of the Confederate States Army in 1862. He freed Richmond from the threat of McClellan's army and uncannily turned defeat into victory in numerous battles.
