World Development Indicators

The World Bank's thick book of statistics is geared toward documenting progress made on the Millennium Development Goals, a set of targets adopted by 189 UN member states in September 2000. The reference begins with a bird's-eye view, exploring factors such as poverty, hunger, health, and literacy from a global perspective. It then focuses on development-related numbers in five categories: people, environment, economy, states and markets, and global trade.
