Pat Monaghan
This could well be a very popular book, for it addresses not the writer yearning to be published but the writer yearning simply to write, and there are certainly more of the latter than of the former. Lane, long a writing teacher, serves as a sort of cheery coach here, urging the reader to dispense with procrastination and just get on with the writing. Dozens of exercises give ideas for how to recapture and "reframe" the past, and Lane proposes interesting and compelling ideas ("triggers") for writing that those at any level of writing skill may find beneficial. Unassuming and friendly, Lane also is utterly confident that writing will "heal." His generosity of spirit marks every page.Book Details
