About the Author, Candida Gillis

CANDIDA GILLIS has taught English and worked with English/language arts teachers for more than twenty-five years. A professor of English at the University of Idaho, she is author of The Community as Classroom: Integrating School and Community Through Language Arts (Boynton/Cook, 1992) and numerous articles on English education. In addition to teaching and writing, she gives talks and conducts workshops for English teachers, serves on the board of the Inland Northwest Council of Teachers of English, and runs her local writing partners project.
