Gr 3-5-A balanced look at contemporary life and historical events in Wyoming. The book includes information on the state's geography, natural history, American Indian and immigrant populations, energy resources, occupations, and environmental concerns. Although most of these topics are only minimally covered, Frisch provides insight into the diversity and uniqueness of the state through an interesting selection of full-color photographs and reproductions, and through vignettes on ``Rodeo Cowgirls,'' ``The Teapot Dome Scandal,'' and ``Prisoners in Their Own Land,'' which briefly discusses the Japanese-American internment camp at Heart Mountain. A guide to ``Famous People'' and a section of ``Facts-at-a-Glance'' complete the presentation.
