The United States Olympic Committee has created a series of books just in time for the next Olympics. Since wrestling isn't one of the sports that gets much airtime during the Olympics or much interest at the average American school, Ledeboer provides an interesting look at this sport. In addition to the history of wrestling, it offers biographies of Olympic champions, the seven basic wrestling skills, explanations of how matches are scored, and copious information about health and nutrition for wrestlers. The book also includes information about women's wrestling. Next time you see kids indulging in roughhousing, challenge them to pick up this book and learn how REAL athletes do it. Part of the "Official U.S. Olympic Committee Sports" series. 2001, Griffin, . Ages 9 up. Reviewer: Donna Freedman
