About the Author, Carol Seefeldt

The expertise and background of the authors is another important feature of this text. Together the authors bring a unique perscpective to the book. Both authors experienced Deweyan education. Both worked in Head Start, child care, and other early childhood settings, and thus bring an intimate knowledge of practice to the text. As teacher educators, they know what pre-service teachers want and need in a mathematics text. Because both were researchers, the latest in theory and research in the field of early childhood mathematics is represented in this edition.
