Overview

In the prologue of the book, I immediately address your first question: "..firstly, you would increase your knowledge of what loving relationships tend to be all about, and secondly, and possibly more importantly, that you will increase your own personal awareness of yourself as well as of your loving relationships with others" (p. xvi). In terms of your second question: after being a licensed psychologist with 25+ years experience as a psychotherapist and couples counselor, as well as teaching graduate courses in these areas, suggestions and reccomendations to offer people. And after a few book talks and feedback from a number of people who have read the book, I am proud to share with you that the book has received extremely positive reviews.

In addition to my academic credentials, for example, I am a distinguished research professor at the University of South Florida with over 95 professional journal articles and 9 other books, I also have dated, been "shot down", been loved, was married for 25 years, been divorced, and now am happily re-married and enjoying the many intrigues and challenges of a blended family.

The bottom line is that while I have learned a tremendous amount from my hundreds of clients over the years, there are not many things that I address in the book that I have not experienced myself.
