Overview

Beginning with a picture of Jack's mother just before he is born, this is the story of baby Jack's first year. The book goes on to show Jack himself at one day old, then at one month, two months, and every month until his first birthday. Each photo spread shows a phase of Jack's development: learning to hold a toy, getting dressed, sitting up...and falling over. The book is especially for little brothers and/or sisters who are awaiting or experiencing a new baby in the family. The author and photographer have also collaborated to write the book, "What Shape?".

Photographs and brief text describe a baby's growth and development from one day to one year old.
