Basic information about the animals includes habitat and food sources. Half of each book is devoted to natural dangers and human threats to the creatures' survival. A chart illustrates the precipitous declines of population. The authors provide information about efforts groups such as the World Wildlife Fund and suggest ways readers can help save the animals. Numerous photos and a range map accompany the simple texts.
